SUMMARY:The sacred waters of the Jejê Nation
DESCRIPTION:This talk will examine the influence of the Jejê Nation of Candomblé and its particularities and peculiarities alongside those of the Ketu Nation. It will dive into how these customs and traditions have contributed to the exchange of knowledge and know-how across centuries. I will discuss the orixás Baba Òṣùmàrè and Iya Yèwá\, demystifying Òṣùmàrè’s relationship to gender.  I will examine Òṣùmàrè as the emblem of the Jejê nation\, his relationship with balance\, and\, as the rainbow\, his relationship to rain — a Sacred Water that itself that comes from Orun that  brings the vital force and fertility for the earth.  \n  \n
