DESCRIPTION:The purpose of the workshop is to have a short discussion about Orisa Èṣù from an Afro-Brazilian perspective. The main idea is to provide a brief overview about the role of Orisa Èṣù in Candomblé. The workshop will be interactive and attendees will be encouraged to interact. Besides the talk\, some of the items used as Èṣù’s offerings will displayed to the attendees.

DESCRIPTION:Come learn about the Afro-Brazilian religious practice of Candomblé and gain an understanding of some of the key differences between Candomblé and other religious practices. The talk will explore how Candomblé houses are a place of belonging for LGBTQ members and give a sense of how Candomblé houses are sites of activism in the current climate of religious intolerance in Brazil.
