Born on Avenida Vasco da Gama in the Federação neighborhood of Salvador, Bahia, Baba Tinho was initiated in 1993 as an Ejoyê for the Orixá Oxóssi at Terreiro Ilê Axe Osumarê. He was made by Babalorixá Sivanilton Encarnação da Mata. Today he serves as Babá Tissá and Axogum. As a respected leader of the community, Baba Tinho is always outlining strategies that support the temples administration, delivering solutions in consultation with the elders, optimizing the community resources as a financial manager, and coordinator of social projects. His focus is the creation of a space for learning and constant interaction with the culture that favors its members and their Afro-Brazilian heritage.
